Kamwokya Christian Caring Community

Kamwokya Christian Caring Community (KCCC) is a faith and community-based Non-Government Organisation. Established in 1987 by local Small Basic Christian Communities (SBCCs), Sr. Dr. Miriam Duggan and other Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa, KCCC currently operates in impoverished and low resourced areas of Kampala, Uganda.

Our faith, competencies and energies are focused on the devastating intersection where HIV/AIDS meets poverty, unemployment and lack of educational opportunity.

Our vision is to seek an improved quality of life for orphans, vulnerable children, women, youth, the disabled, and persons infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS in impoverished and low-resourced areas in Kampala District.

Our Mission is to sustainably enhance the capacities of families and communities in impoverished and low-resourced areas in Kampala district to address their social, economic, health, spiritual, cultural and development needs.


Our Core Values, Members and staff of Kamwokya Christian Caring Community believe in serving, caring and sharing with love and compassion while nurturing their spirituality as a foundation for providing quality services.

Our Goals and Objectives:

Firstly, to prevent the spread of HIV and other infections (e.g. TB, Malaria, STDs) and improve care and support for families affected by AIDS and other diseases through building and strengthening individual capacities, service delivery structures and social support networks in impoverished and low resourced areas in Kampala District through the following: (click on a link below):

Secondly, to improve the quality of life of the poor and vulnerable in impoverished and low-resourced areas in Kampala District by increasing thier capacity to improve their livelihoods through access to formal and technical education, credit and productive assests.
