McFly are an English pop rock band consisting of Tom Fletcher (lead vocals and guitar), Danny Jones(lead vocals and guitar), Dougie Poynter (backing vocals and bass guitar) and Harry Judd (drums). McFly have sold an estimated 8 million records worldwide and have also won a BRIT Award. McFly visited Kamwokya in Uganda with Newsround. They came for Comic Relief on 2 occasions to see the good work KCCC has done. They met lots of kids on their trip, and saw what cash raised by the charity (Comic Relief) was doing for the community. Kamwokya is a very poor place, which has a lot of problems linked to poverty. Not many people have clean water there. Lots of people share the same toilet, and open sewers run through the streets, which means diseases can spread easily. The band met Rogers, a young boy who lives in a tiny room with lots of his family. He is studying to be a doctor one day. That's possible because of the school which was built with money from Comic Relief. Although the school is pretty big, there are plans to add an assembly hall. Kids in Kamwokya really appreciate school because it's not something they all get to go to. It was an emotional trip for the McFly boys. But they put on a bit of a show for the local school kids at the end of their visit.
