Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) |

In 2010 a total of 89 pregnant women were enrolled on the PMTCT program. Of the 89 pregnant women enrolled 12.3% (11) were new pregnant women who walked in when pregnant, while 87.6% (78) were already enrolled in HIV care at our facility and got pregnant while on treatment. Also in the same period, 64 infants were born to HIV infected women and received ARV prophylaxis. 42 babies out of 64 born to HIV positive mothers tested HIV negative, the rest did not return for HIV testing. |
