Under our strategic plan 2009-2013, KCCC has let some of its components to become independent (i.e. Sr. Miriam Duggan Primary School, the Vocational Training Centre, and the SACCO) The aim was to make them autonomous in day-to-day management and partially financially self-sustaining. KCCC became a secretariat for these entities and in this capacity will retain control over their governance to ensure quality control and sustained focus on the KCCC vision. Working with the school management committee KCCC is seeking resources to complete the second phase of the school so as to increase its capacity to take on more orphans/vulnerable children. Working with the vocational training centre's management committee, more employment-oriented vocational training will be introduced, more training facilities developed, while all departments will be encouraged to engage in production for income generation.

The KCCC SACCO will be capitalized to increase access to credit and savings opportunities for the poor and vulnerable. A more sustainable/less welfare oriented approach to orphans and vulnerable children support will be adopted. The devolved projects are continuously being helped to undertake capacity and sustainability analysis and develop clear plans. KCCC will continue to mentor and provide them with minimal support supervision so that they can develop, update and sustain elaborate governance systems and structures and mobilize resources independently.
